Methods for Character and Word Count Calculation

To calculate the number of characters (with and without spaces) and words, we use different combinations of methods. Let’s look into the methods we used in this project.

// To calculate the character count including spaces

const characterCount = text.length;


// To calculate the character count excluding spaces

const characterCountWithoutSpaces = text.replace(/\s/g, "").length;


// To calculate the word count by using space as a separator

const wordCount = text.trim() === "" ? 0 : text.trim().split(/\s+/).length;
